The W2W Score Formula

The W2W Score is a proprietary ranking system that evaluates every major U.S. (and the UK) sporting event across the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, CFB, CBB, and EPL to determine which matchups are the most exciting to watch on any given day.

Core Components

Five factors determine the watchability of every game:

Rivalry Value
Captures the historical and emotional significance of a matchup. Hard-coded based on sport-specific context.
1 – 10
Marketability
Reflects overall team appeal: brand strength, fanbase size, star power, and media relevance.
1 – 10
Competitiveness
Measures how closely matched the teams are in the standings, emphasizing less predictable outcomes.
Dynamic
Quality of Play
Evaluates how well both teams are performing using their combined success throughout the season.
Dynamic
Importance
Accounts for where the game falls in the season, with higher weight for late-season and postseason matchups.

Final Formula

Rivalry + Marketability + Competitiveness + Quality of Play + Importance = W2W Score
